1990 Bathgate Avenue Daycare Exterior

Project Overview

1990 Bathgate Avenue — Façade Replacement 1990 Bathgate Avenue, Bronx, NY Project Type: Day Care Center — Façade Replacement, 4 Sides Architect: Palette Architecture / John Sunwoo Contractor: Integrity Contracting, Inc.

Integrity Contracting, Inc. completed a full four-sided façade replacement at a day care center located at 1990 Bathgate Avenue in the Bronx, New York. Working in collaboration with architect John Sunwoo of Palette Architecture, the project delivered a complete exterior envelope transformation that modernized the building’s appearance while improving performance and safety.

Exterior Cladding & Finish The redesigned façade features a two-material composition that defines the building’s character. The lower levels are clad in warm tan brick, providing a durable, grounded base, while the upper floors are finished in a clean white stucco-style exterior system. A bold projecting cornice caps the roofline, giving the building a strong, finished profile. The contrast between the brick base and the light upper façade creates a striking, contemporary look appropriate for an institutional facility.

Windows & Glazing New dark-framed windows were installed uniformly across all elevations, replacing the existing window assemblies throughout. The updated units improve thermal performance and natural light while lending a modern aesthetic to the façade. Window placement is consistent and well-proportioned across each floor, contributing to the building’s clean, orderly appearance.

Rooftop & Safety Railings A metal safety railing system was installed along the rooftop perimeter, visible along the upper edge of the building. The railing provides code-compliant protection while integrating cleanly with the overall design.

Playground & Site The rear elevation overlooks an active children’s playground, underscoring the importance of safe, well-managed construction sequencing throughout the project. Integrity Contracting maintained strict site safety protocols to protect the facility’s young occupants and staff during all phases of construction.
